Murano glass mosaics
Carrier material
I lay my Murano glass mosaics on sheet steel or aluminium and use my painted pictures as a template!Workflow:
I break the approx. 20x10x10 mm glass stones with special pliers and glue the pieces together on the metal base to form a mosaic.
Some of the works on display are still available for purchase - if you are interested, I look forward to hearing from you.
I am also happy to accept orders and realise individual wishes in my own handwriting.

Place of origin:
Venice, Murano
development process:
Raw materials such as sand, hard, colouring and clouding lime, as well as oxides (for colouring) are mixed, heated up to 1450 °C in the furnace and thus transformed into glass.
The red-hot glass is then pressed and finally cooled to room temperature.
Glass "smalten" (glass cuboids) are cut from a glass plate (piastrina), broken, crushed and marketed in various colours.
